Ar2924 wl 09-02-2021

Today I got a second chance to use my home built solar Newtonian, today was quite gusty and unstable as we are right in the middle of our sub tropical summer here in Brisbane. I had to fight the clouds and wind but got some half decent images.

The solar Newtonian now has a motorised focuser so all my Imaging is done from inside.

Here are some images taken with my ASI290mm at prime focus and a close up of AR2924 with a 3x Barlow plus a fleeting glimpse of a new sunspot making it's way around the limb.

A very nice result Martin. Your new Solar scope is certainly doing the job producing great images. As for imaging in the cool comfort of indoors, that’s a good way to go. Also less chance of tripping into the pool. Well done!
