Should I Buy This 8 Inch Dobsonian?

Hello there

The price is $150. I am thinking at that price there has to be a catch/something wrong. I emailed the seller and asked about dust on the mirrors, when was the last time it was used, and accessories/collimation tools etc. It will be my first DOB. What would you ask/look for before buying?

Thanks all

That's incredibly cheap. I'd definitely grab it. At that price any issues could be dealt with. Dobs are fairly foolproof. The mirror will likely need an extremely gentle clean. Search the forum here for instructions how

Cleaning the mirror is relatively simple, my advice would be to check the collimation, anyone with a newtonian should have a collimation tool for that.
Great scope to start with

You also need to check that the mount moves properly. If possible can you take someone with you to look at it?

The seller has not replied. The ad is still posted. Hope it has not gone to someone else.
