As a result of an accidental key press i found something interesting.
this will apply to colour cameras only.
thanks to the moon last night i decided to run the new camera with an Ha filter on eta carinae, as it comes out red, i would normally pull off the luminance channel and have a fiddle with it.
in pixinsight the button next to luminance is the channel split, and accidentally thats what happened..... to my suprise the green and the blue channel have data, albeit low, the benefit of this is that you can extract a non blown out eta from another channel and blend it back in, its only a minor benefit, but one i had never come across before. particularly usefull if you later wish to use the Ha channel for luminosity to create an RGB image.
forgive the processing and the Halo flare, but i thought the idea might be of interest to some with colour cameras.
