Southern Delta Aquarids on 28/07/12

Hi guys,

I'm pretty new to astronomy, and as such I haven't found any good locations for viewing. Since the Southern Delta Aquarids meteor shower is coming up soon, I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for viewing locations within 2.5 hours drive of Brisbane? If there are none, what's the closest location you would recommend?

I really want to be able to fully enjoy this shower, and I don't want to waste a trip by not going far enough out and having it ruined by light pollution.

Any and all input is welcome.

Thanks

Anywhere up here on the Sunny Coast hinterland is great!! especially when you get behind the ranges to places like Conondale, Amamoor, Kandanga etc to block out the lights from the coastal strip.

Plenty of other good spots out the Brisbane Valley too.
