Sorry jjj, I am not sure what you mean by avi's of Saturn. I tried to get some shots of her but she just came out the same as last weeks shots. Maybe she will get larger soon and I can get a good one.
Mars looked a little bit larger last night but maybe it is my eyes playing tricks on me. When looking up there for too long I noticed that kind of thing happens. It is hard to stop looking up there.

Yes, jjj is a wonderful astrophotographer.

You probably dont need to worry just yet about AVIs, that will come down the track when you are more familiar with your scope and camera, alignments and tracking. (I dont know much about them either!!)

Make the most of Mars as its now moving away from us. It was closest last month, and is at opposition (closest to Earth) every 18 months I think. Put Mars in your eyepiece (EP) and have a reeeeal good look - the longer you look the more you will see.

Saturn is at opposition this week!!! It will rise at sunset and set at dawn, and will be a brilliant sight in the sky .. well, it is always a brilliant sight.
