Who needs a scope??

On holidays in Western Australia and was out last night at
Albany the only thing between us and the Antarctic was the ocean. No scope but after the kids were in bed we sat on a headland and watched the thin crest of a moon. The earthshine was spectacular and the setting made it absolutely special.

Who needs a scope to love the moon?

Absolutely right, Rob! A young or old moon at low altitude is always spectacular.

Aww! A setting moon, your ever lovin' by your side, a headland at Albany and the children tucked up in bed. Sounds idyllic, Rob.

I hope that the rest of your holiday is as irenic. Take care.

A pleasant scene indeed.

Sounds very nice, Rob.

You gotta make the most of those special (calm) moments in this fast-paced and often hectic life.

The heavens give us the chance for pause

Some of my best memories of the night sky was when I had no optics to hand.

I think, if you don't have a scope, you love the Moon. When you do have a scope, you come to HATE the Moon!
