Managed to finally obtain all my data for a 3 panel mosaic last night and have just finished processing this in Pixinsight. Processed as SHO with Ha added as a Luminance layer.
Image details (per panel):
Ha - 42 x 240s
O3 - 43 x 240s
S2 - 43 x 240s
Calibrated with 75 x Flats, Flat Darks and Darks, Gain 111, -15deg
Equipment details:
Skywatcher Esprit 100
Saxon AZ-EQ6 GT
ZWO183mm pro, 290mm mini and OAG
Lakeside Astro Focuser
Astronomik 6nm Ha, S2 and O3 1.25" Filters
Pegasus Astro USB Hub
Hitec Astro Mount Hub Pro Compact
Pegasus Flatmaster 150 light panel for flats
SGP Pro for image acquisition, PHD2 guiding, Sharpcap Pro for PA and Pixinsight for calibration and processing.
It's a well framed and produced image with a lovely, spooky colour palette.
There does appear though to be an obvious joining seam visible 1/3 of the way in from the LHS.
Might be worth a revisit, as it's got the makings of a very good image
Thanks Andy, I noticed that too, was my first attempt using the Photometric Mosaic script in Pixinsight instead of the usual Star Alignment process so will definitely be working on version 2 of the image.
Thanks Peter, I've used that method in the past, this time I used image solver on each tile, then mosaic scripts and I've just finished playing around with the photometric mosaic script and I think the result is a bit better now. I also made two versions. first one is HaHSO and the second is LHSO with L created by integrating SHO together, think there's a bit more detail in this one now.
