Hi All

Hi my names Paul Ive been interested in Astronomy for many years but have never had the time until resently to make it a hobbie
I have owned a celestron 114EQ for 5 years (xmas present) and have only looked at the moon and pointed it at the night sky and thought wow! mostly it just gathered dust
But that all changed when I downloaded an app on my ipad called Luminos you just hold it up to the night sky and for the first time i had some idea of what I was looking at now Im hooked
My new scope is a celestron C8NGT 8" with a 20mm eyepiece included
apart from the 10mm eypiece from the 114EQ
that covers all my gear.
cheers
Paul

Hi Paul,

Welcome to IIS - we're normally a friendly bunch and I'm surprised that I'm first in to say Hi to you, usually some of the more vocal (people with no real lives) guys and gals will jump in early.

If you have any questions, comments, rants or raves - just jump on in.

Your new scope sounds awesome and I'm sure in no time we'll all be helping to spend your money for you on all the new goodies you'll need (like a few more EPs for starters )

VAZ

Thanks for warm weclome I tryed yesterday to give the 8" its first run set it all up in the day time as its a bit heavy(30kg) but I guess this is normal?
I balanced it and roughly aligined it to the south and coverd it up
then the clouds rolled in late afternoon (first thing to learn check the weather) so back in the house it went oh well all good
