PCBWay - custom machined adapters

I have seen loads of examples of PreciseParts being used for threaded adapters, and they clearly specialise in optical accessory threads, however has anyone tried using PCBway's machining service for threaded adapters?

Just curious for alternatives... shipping+AUD/USD conversion on top of a part that already costs a kidney... it adds up.

Thinking of getting a simple M68 to M56/60 adapter ring for my Vixen R200SS as I am about to swap over to a Moonlite 2.5" CRL so that I can screw the Vixen coma corrector directly into the Moonlite.

I have used Josh for adapters now for a couple of years. Unbeatable and excellent quality.

If you make a mistake on Precise Parts adapter site it's at your cost. So add that into the already high cost, exchange rate, shipping.

Greg.

Ah well I guess I'll find out soon enough... Already put through an order with PCBWay for the two parts. It will be interesting to see how they turn out, it was around $120 for the two parts.
Good to know Joshua is local, I will hit him up if I need further work done locally.
I'll update once I have the PCBWay parts in hand, I am very curious to see how their machining work and threads turn out.

I've now completed two projects using PCBWay. One is the Moonlite thread adpapters (Astrobin forum post here: https://www.astrobin.com/forum/c/equ...-vixen-r200ss/).

I have also since designed and machined a tilter that is thinner and more compact than the Gerd CTU-XT, so that it fits under my QHY 294M-Pro and OAG-M. I will probably do a post on this one once I figure out how to upload the design files so other people can make one.
