Planet rise/set chart 2009

I'm looking for a chart that gives planet rise/set times for 2009 and general info on when/where it's best to see them. Can anyone help ?

Oh, and I'm in Sydney, Australia.

Go and purchase a copy of Astronomy 2009. this has all the information you want plus a bit more.

you can find it at Australian Geographic or a good book store! other wise Quasar publishing are the distributers.

Hi Michael

Unfortuantely IceInSpace doesn't have that information readily available at this stage, though it's something we'll be adding hopefully during 2009.

You can get that sort of info from the Astronomy 2009 almanac/yearbook if you have it?

The Melbourne Planetarium website might have what you need, though it's specific for Melbourne latitudes. http://museumvictoria.com.au/planeta...and-Set-Times/

For a generic calculator, use this: http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/docs/mrst.php
(form B), though it's a little annoying as you'll have to choose each planet individually.

Hope that helps.

Cheers

I've been given the "2009 Australian Sky Guide" by the wife.

It's pretty handy!

Shows all the rise and set times, however, it shows all the times based on Sydney time.
There is an easy city "time corrector" to get the correct time on where you are. (where or if applicable)

Thanks Glen I'll file that with my Astronomy 2009 - but the phase of the Sun is pretty boring this year
