NGC 6188 - The Dragons of Ara

Got my 925 EdgeHD guiding awesome now that I've started using an OAG, I want to eventually try my full frame mirrorless camera through this telescope but just waiting for some adapters to arrive.

Whilst waiting for the bits I thought id try my ASI533 with the Lextreme filter in there for some 20 min subs now that my guiding is bulletproof - Im totally going to jinx it

The setup isnt ideal as it calculates out to 0.47" arcseconds per pixel but I was quite impressed with the results nevertheless.
The final image was stacked using 7x20min frames in DSS then into pixinsight/photoshop for processing.

I have a plan to do a large mosaic of the whole area but it may take a few weeks. Hopefully the weather holds out as the next week looks great with little wind and clear nights!

Hope to add heaps of data to this as time goes on and look forward to sharing the results

That’s a really cool shot! Quite a different view from the common wide-field shots of this area. Nice job!
