Comet C2017 K2 PANSTARRS

My first comet photo (and post here) - it's slightly left of centre. I was mainly pleased that I could find it on consecutive nights (to check).

Not much evidence of the tail but it's a long way out; about 4.5AU, magnitude 11.7.

1x120 seconds exposure, Celestron C9.25 with 0.65 reducer/flattener, OAG, ASI224MC. Light only.

Well done David! Not an easy task to centre a faint small target on the tiny 224mc sensor, especially at long focal lengths. No tail but you can definitely detect the green colour of the surrounding coma. It is fun searching for something so hidden amongst numerous stars. Kind of like an astronomical " Where's Wally?" and it's so exciting when you find it.

Great work! It’s certainly getting fainter. I presume there’s probably not a lot of movement through the star field right now?

Thanks - I quoted the wrong camera - it was the 533MC so not quite so challenging. I like the idea of looking for comets instead of things that haven't moved for centuries.
