It all depends on how you deploy them and what you classify as a pro and con.....
Interlacing allowed SX to have the same camera guide itself at the expense of losing 1/2 the exposure time. If you didn't use this feature then the camera worked as well as any other with the occassional 'venetian blind' issue (the 2 interlaced frames not haveing exactly the same brightness level) but this can be fixed in post processing.
