Saxon 114/900 EQ spare parts
I was given a somewhat beaten up Saxon 114 Newt yesterday (slight dent in tube I'm sure I can remove (and paint entire tube inside)) with the EQ1 head, no tripod itself and the collar on the focuser is missing.
The mirror is a little grubby but I'm going to remove it later and give it a good clean, I'll do the secondary too.
My question, I have no use for the scope but I'm sure if I could collect the bits and pieces missing cheap enough I could throw in some older eyepieces I don't use (nothing great unfortunately) and donate it to someone I know with a child. A few people who've indicated they'd like to get their kids a telescope.
Any suggestions where I may acquire an EQ1 tripod (it came with the EQ1 head and rings, no tripod) and end collar on focuser for little?
I was shocked to see the same telescope starts at $350 so it's worth doing for someone who will appreciate it, I'm just not in a position to sink too much money into it for someone else.
I won't just throw the thing out I'm sure someone would be extremely happy with it as a complete unit.
