Digital Remote timer for Canon and Nikon digital DSLR Cameras

Hello I have attatched some pics of a chineese version of a digital Timer, Made by Phottix .If you own a 400D -300D -350D etc you had to buy a mod. one from Heutech. for about $250 Aust dollars. This one is about $49 to $ 55.00 Australian.It comes with instructions and battery,and seems to work O.K.. They make them for other digital Brand Cameras as well . I got my one through Telescopes And Astronomy in S.A.. Reguard's Tony.-mine is a Phottix TR-80 -C1.

I got one of these (or similar) off ebay for my 350D, and it works great!

Excellent value compared to the official models.

I am getting mine from China via ebay this week I hope...
Apture timer, $45 + $20 for shipping (a bit excessive, but still acceptable)
So far I was using my own utility written in Delphi (and I intend to do it in the future of course) , but this is going to be better as far as battery life is concerned, laptop batteries do not last long enough...

Bojan, I got Apture timer for about three months now. It works fine with my Pentax. It is still running on same batteries. Anyhow it uses AAA batteries so replacing batteries is no problem.

mine was a Photix one, bought from Hong Kong for $65AUD shipped!

Its got to be THE most useful thing to have for DSLR astro imaging.. prior to that I had been using a manual shutter release cable, timing my exposures with my wrist watch... Not a relaxing task.. Now, get the target framed, set the start delay, interval, exposure duration and exposure count settings, press start and walk away..

Fantastic bit of gear! And why would you pay nearly $300 for the Canon branded unit?
