Hi Eric, let Google be your guide
http://www.atmob.org/library/member/skymaps_jsmall.html
http://www.utahskies.org/deepsky/mes...dFrameSet.html
http://hotastronomy.com/2008/06/09/t...finder-charts/
Given these are Northern hemisphere biased, you'll probably have turn the charts upside down for Southern skies
cheers

Gooday there young Eric,

Just a thought, when I started doing variable star obs for the AAVSO I accurately calculated the actual field of view of my various eyepieces by timing the drift of a star from edge to edge of the FOV. I then made up cardboard disks for each eyepiece with the hole in the disk being the FOV for the scale of chart I was using. Whether they be AAVSO or Sky Atlas 2000 or The Herald Bobroff Astro Atlas.

You could do the same for your telrad, it would mean having a different disk for each different scaled chart but cardboard is cheap and so long as you mark each disk than there is no problem.

Regards
Trevor

Hey --they are good ideas people-I like!
Im just starting to learn my way(read fumble)around the sky a little bit and am now using a Telrad on my dob(hence the telrad circle maps to spot things abit easier). On that subject the telrad is fantastic--its so easy to find your way about and point the scope in the right direction.Im not really needing to use the finder scope at the moment(I find myself using my binos then the telrad then scope)does that make sense???
It seems not so confusing for me ---at this very early stage, as using just the finder scope alone, takes me so long just to be pointed in the right direction?
Thanx for the replys--you have given me some really good help people!
PS:Has anyone else noticed there are clouds around tonight--%$3$%$3 I wanna use my new toy!

As long as they are all at the same scale.

I still use my 1mw laser pointer it is the bom i stand behind the newt, zip zip, the star is in the middle of the eye piece! done. not only is it good for that, it illuminates the cross hair's perfectly, not only that its a illuminated rectical at the eye piece! then for the final kick it tells me when or if theres moisture/dust in the atmosphere, as its not a strong laser you have to keep your eye on where it is if there isn't any moisture in the air, its very very faint. but when there is it lights up like a light saber ahhh
