My First Night

Well not really, but it may as well have been. Shell just finished showing me a whole bunch of stuff, a few open and globular clusters, and even made out Saturn in the binos. Amazing how distinct Saturn appears in the sky, I'm sure it looked off shape (rings?) even through the binos!

Anyway.. I loved it.. I think I could be another convert . I get the pleasure of meeting a bunch of you fine folk tomorrow night, then I think the bino hunt begins!

Congrats Jason. It can certainly get addictive, especially when you've got others around to share it all with. Certainly a nice night for it.

Too right Rob - and we're just in Brissie suburbia at the moment, can't wait until we get to dark skies tomorrow night

Certainly was a great night Except when I told you the Jewel Box cluster was where it actually isn't Those $5 observing chairs work a treat!

Haha it doesn't matter - I'm sure I'll need to re-learn these at least a few times anyway Indeed those chairs are perfect.

Hi Jason!

We've lost another one to astronomy...
The addiction will begin
Aperture fever will strike
Clouds and moon will soon be loathed
Frustration and withdrawal symptoms will rear their heads
The wallet will forever be empty

I just think it's so fabulously wonderful that both you and Shelley share the same passion with both photography and astronomy, it's just so special and wonderful and sweet, and...and..and...
