LOL, I am a new member to the forums, I actually became a member in 07 and due to moving and the start of a family with work I just didn't have the time.
Moved back to Port Macquarie, no more moving, and have decided to take Astronomy back up. I have been lucky enough to have 2 Meade 10 inch scopes. One really old that I purchased many years ago and one I picked up in 2005 of the late Mr Bob Shobbrook from Coonabarabran. This scope is a LXD55 SN10. Both units well used and in excellent condition.
Both have been packed away for a number of years and I have know decided to unpack and have a play. Both mirrors had mold so it was decided to totally dismantle the SN10 and clean. The other just the primary mirror was cleaned. The first issue I noticed with the SN10 was the paint has come away from the metal tube. I decided to remove all paint and start again. The etch primer that was used had fully separated. Instead of painting back as a white tube I painted as a MEADE blue in two pack. Pics to come. Mount has been hyper tuned and fully modified in 07, I did all this prior to packing away but never fully tested.
Other equipment I have it SBIG ST-7 and Meade DSI, number of odds and ends.
Anyway it will be great to peruse the forums and see what others are doing. How things have changed since I started.
