I deliberated the past week as to whether I should sell this mount, as it is a solid performer (typically mounted on my pier) averaging a total RMS <0.3-0.5 when doing astrophotography.
Up for grabs is:
SkyWatcher NEQ6 (belt modded - 15P/60T - ratio 4:1) - hypertuned
Vimtech (Axiom Astro) EQ6 Wedge upgrade
ADM EQ6 Vixen/Losmandy head upgrade
Shoestring (serial to USB) chord
2x 5kg counterweights
please note:
- no synscan (the mount is driven purely through the USB with EQMOD or Greenswamp). I do not believe asi air will drive this mount accurately with the 4:1 gear ratio. I can also supply the PEC correction curves used with EQMOD.
- I am not willing to part out the Vimtech or ADM from the mount. If you can find these items, the asking price for these items alone (with our current exchange rates) is prohibitive.
Priced to sell - asking $1150 pickup (Brisbane area).
I've not seen the wedge upgrade before, I've got an NEQ6 (so sorry not looking to buy another mount) and really interested in where you found it. It looks so much better than the original ones.
I obtained the wedge (also known as the EQ6 Rail) a few years back from modernastronomy.com (Bernard was the fellow I dealth with) - the item is only manufactured upon placing a special order. The NEQ6's had very soft bolts, often giving way to flexing with temperature and weight. This item was aimed to resolve that issue and make fine adjustments to polar alignment much easier. In addition, gave more adjustment range in both dec and alt.
