I am looking at this battery to end up powering a skywatcher or saxon AZ-eq6 mount which i am planning on getting down the track.
Would it be sufficient to power it along with the asi air
yea plan is just the mount, asiair and down the track maybe a guide camera and a cooled camera.
I would be happy with 2 nights worth
My main concern was powering the mount as i have read it is very picky with power.
Though to be honest, i am not sure i am sold on that mount just yet, and most likely to the weight of it all if travelling.
I use the first gen River with HEQ5 Pro using 12V DC and haven’t had any issues. My battery is just over 500Wh and easily lasts a whole night with spare left in the morning. I use the Asiair to power camera, guider, dew heaters and auto focused.
If you are worried there might be issues powering your gear, get it from a place where they allow change of mind returns.
I have two of the previous generation - an EcoFlow River Pro (720Wh) and EcoFlow River Max (576Wh). I also have 200W solar panels (different brand: 'Allpower') to re-charge when out in the field - that works pretty well, too. They also double as my emergency power system at home - I ran my fridge for 8 hours off the Max during an outage and it still had some energy to spare.
The 'usable' energy seems to be about 70-80% of the nominal figure, depending on whether you're using DC direct or the AC inverter, and probably driven by the power factor of your equipment.
I'm quite happy with mine. They're enough to drive my mount, cameras, filter wheel, dew heaters and two laptops for a couple of nights, so the Pro 2 should be fine.
They have fairly regular sales, so keep an eye out for those.
I can happily report that this unit is absolutely brilliant.
Has been powering my wave150i, eaf, camera, usb hub, asiair and laptop with ease.
3 nights out at around 3 hours a night and still at 80% capacity.
Not too heavy to carry around either.
