Moon Dance

Got the tail end of last nights moon event. Seeing was not good ( over the roof of my house does not help ) and it was hard to focus but on this, my last take, seeing improved slightly. My normal set up: 8 inch Newt, 5X Powermate and ASI224mc captured on mobile phone using ASICAP.

P.S Ran this through Winjupos to see if it made any difference. It seems to be better but is the extra effort worthwhile at this image scale? I think this program works best with data captured with better seeing, longer exposures and larger scopes.

Mick,
It may not have been a ‘marvellous night for a…’ but this turned out pretty darn good none the less.
It’s about as good as you’d get with the planet wobbling around through poor seeing. Detail showing through and a great record of both Io and Ganymede making for a great scene.
Well processed to make the most of your capture indeed.
Anthony

No diagonal used, from memory I rotated image in either Registax or PS, placing south at the bottom. This is what I normally do with my images of Jupiter.
