I got the moon!

Finally...
I was able to make even a picture, not a great one but I'm happy considering I did it while pointing a small compact camera directly on the 25mm EP.

I know, nothing compared with all the marvellous picture saw in this forum, but for me is big step

I've got to disagree with you there... I think it's an absolutely fantastic image. I did the hard yards too, and know how difficult it can be to do afocal imaging. But as you can see, the results are astonishing.

If you're little camera takes video, and has zoom, you should try and take some movies of Jupiter. You run the .avi through Registax and voila, you're planetary imaging too.

Yup, I'll try. I got an Orion StarShoot usb camera and I'm working to write a kext compatible for Mac computer. Unfortunately it comes only with Windows drivers and installing Windows in my Mac is like kill 15 years of honoured software developer career !

Cheers.

You did a great job on the Afocal method, come to think of it my first shot with the 10"dob was though a eyepiece on the full moon.

Though now i have to inform you as a fellow IIS'er you have been diagnosed with Astrophotitis... it s a terminal disease... Im a sort term sufferer, but there are many here on their last legs.

aka, its called the Darkside of astronomy hehehehe
Good luck!
