Sydney Observatory 101

Hi all!

Well I'm just one week away from my trip to Sydney and boy am I excited!!!
I'm planning to pay a visit to the Observatory and from what I've seen on their website they offer night time viewing to the public (?)
What's the deal here? I mean do they let you operate the scopes or do they have a pre-arranged schedule of what to look at and they show you?
It 'll be a heck of an experience for sure cause I've never been to an observatory, much less look through a really BIG telescope!
(any chance I can take my SPC900 and barlow along for some imaging? )
Any recommendations from people who have been there?

Thanks alot!
See you next week!

I've been there and looked through their scope. The only prob is that it's pretty much in the center of the city and very light polluted.
