Getting Longer Exposures

Hi Guys, I've got the scope aligned a bit better now (been a struggle ).

Here are a couple from tonight.....

Can't remember what this nebula was called sorry...

And my good old faithful.....eta car.

I am generally happier with these pics - alot less movement and alot more detail.

Nice work Peter. The first one is M8 -the Lagoon Nebula.

Are they single exposures? What length of exposure? What camera settings?

Thanks Iceman,

They are both single exposures. 80 sec (although I did manage some 2 minute exposures with very little movement tonight ) ISO 800, canon 20D, prime focus through a skywatcher 80 ED.

Cheers,

Peter
