Serial to USB Converters for the PME
Hi all
there are many options out there, but has anyone who owns a serial Paramount ME (i.e the MKS3000) had consistent success with any specific model?
thanks!

I'm in the same boat as David Martin, I tried a lot of different serial adapters over the years and have found the same one to be the most consistant on all operating systems including Windows 7 64 bit. Garry sells them at a reasonable price but they are becoming more available as the word spreads that they are the best on the market and seem to work with everything.

I can strongly recommend the Keyspan adaptor. Works 100% with all my astro software and hardware. Over four years now and NEVER missed a beat.

Thanks for the reminder guys. I had to put my astro usb->serial adapters into a job just before xmas to get a ticketing printer going in windows 7. Just ordered a couple of these off ebay to replace them.

My two port (non Keyspan) adapter has started giving me grief on 64-bit Windows, so I just ordered a 4-port Keyspan. I found one on Amazon for a good price...

I got a cheapish one with the Planewave CDK called Prolific. It seems to be Chinese but it works.
I used its drivers to run a couple of adapters I had lying around and they worked as well.
One is a hard no cable type that plugs into the laptop USB port. That should do the trick.
