I am very new to Astronomy. It has been an area in which I have had an interest for a very long time but, until recently, I mainly observed with a basic pair of binoculars. I purchased my first telescope a few months ago and read everything I could find on using it (from setting up through to what to look at) and attended my local Astronomical Society (MAS). This is mainly how I came upon IIS.
I have found the articles on this site to be very helpful. With the advent of the colder weather, I needed to get a dew heater - built the one from the project section, together with a controller - they work perfectly.
I would like to express my most sincere appreciation to the other members of this site who have been of great assistance in resolving the problems I have encountered. This has been mostly passive assistance as someone else has asked the questions that I did not even know to ask.
I hope that the more knowledgeable will continue to pass on the advice and skills you have, so that lesser able beginners such as me can continue to benefit.
