NGC 6744 Pavo Galaxy ( Re Processed)

Decided to re process this image to squeeze a little bit more brightness and contrast out of limited data available. Some folk offered some constructive criticism which I totally concurred with.
Also used a different Colour algorithm and handy tools which tidied up some of the colour shift in the medium to larger stars.
Obviously significantly more data is the only way to improve image quality, however this version is definitely brighter at the expense of some fine detail.

Thanks Ahmed,
I have provided full details of capture and processing on my initial posted image ( look down 3 images to my original posted image of this object )
Also includes my Astrobin link as well

Very nice, I collected a lot of data on this one but can't seem to coax a reasonable colour image out of
that

Thanks Trev

From my experiences using my 2600MC and now the 2600MM on this dim galaxy, a lot of data is in the order of 15 to 30 hrs plus.
This image was only 7.5 hrs under B3 skies using my 10” Carbon Newt and I had trouble with colour balance too. I even captured Ha data on this object and found the Ha signal very weak. If I’d captured 15 to 20 hours plus there wouldn’t be an issue at all. Data is king on dim galaxies whether using a OSC or Mono LRGB.
Cheers

With such a low surface brightness this object is a challenge to process. Nicely done Martin.

Thanks Andrew
Yes Pavo is certainly a dim Galaxy , unlike M83 , NGC 253 , NGC 5128 and many others
Just happy to score a couple of clear nights during new moon ( it’s been at least 6 months from memory)
Seems like every night I image , the moon is present, with varying degrees of phase.
