A History of the Universe in 21 Stars (and 3 Imposters)

If you are looking for some enjoyable informative holiday reading, I can recommend this book, authored by Giles Sparrow, Welbeck Publishing (2020).
In summary, it comprises 24 chapters each focusing on a particular star of interest (or imposter galaxy etc). It’s an easy read and to quote the back cover:

So discover what we know about the birth, life and death of stars, and then look again at the night sky and marvel at the wonder of the universe
