Dob Mods!

Hi,

I have located some half satin material to be used to flock my 12" Dob. I thought I may as well flock the whole tube as I don't like doing things in half measures.

The material is non adhesive so I am sourcing some glue to use.

The only glue I think would be suitable would be Aquadhere(Wood Glue).
This glue is not too aggressive and doesnt dry instantly so you can adjust the fabric if misaligned. An aggressive glue like Qwik Grip I think wouldnt be any good.

Has anyone glued their material to their tube, and if so, what glue did you find worked best to stick fabric to the metal???????



Already I have machined up a Stainless steel sight tube, which works great, and have machined up 3 heavy duty teflon sliders plus centre bush. No milk jug trick for me

I don't think that 'Aquadhere' will stick to metal, not permanently. Try on scrap piece of metal & cloth first.
Contact cement is a better choice. A few of the IIS's have done it, so wait for more info. I think they used 'Spray-on' glue???? L.
