The Suns 27th August

27th August. 12 noon SE Australia (2.00 UT).

Two images today of AR2860 - orange one at Ha wavelength thru a Lunt 100 scope, and yellow one at 540 nm thru a WO 81 mm refractor.

Both single exposures with a Canon 550d camera.

I noticed an unnamed new sunspot group near the SW limb (grey arrow). It shows up on the 540 nm shot but not so well on the Ha shot. I suspect is will be called AR2861 ? Thanks for viewing.

These are really good for single exposures.

Cheers

A nice pair of images John. That AR imaged in 540 looks really interesting. It certainly looks like it's grown over the last few days.
