Good finderscope for Celestron nexstar

Hi all,
I've just returned to astronomy after 25 years timeout. I picked up a celestron Nexstar 6SE and love 95% of it. My only problem is the red dot finder which is, um, not exactly the best. Can anyone out there please suggest a good replacement finderscope that I can fit without redrilling the back of the OTA?
Thanks for any ideas.

Welcome Paul!

I'd recommend a Rigel Quikfinder, available from
Telescopes & Astronomy as it's small and light... I use one on my 8SE. It makes alignment easier than the Celestron one (in my opinion) as it displays a couple of concentric rings 0.5 and 2.0 degrees in diameter rather than just a dot in the centre.

The Telrad is another popular red dot finder but is significantly larger and would practically run the length of the 6SE optical tube!

Thanks Dunk,

I took a look at the Rigel Quikfinder online and it looks perfect. Thanks for the suggestion for my first upgrade!

Cheers, Paul
