15th/16th August. Five active regions were seen on the 15th August. Two M class flares occurred around AR 3078 and one C flare around AR3079.
On the 16th August the sunspot groups had moved further west (to right) and three new small sunspot groups were seen (marked n). Both images are single exposures taken thru a 81 mm WO scope with a Canon 550d camera and Herschel wedge at 540 nm wavelength. Thanks for viewing.
Amazing effort capturing anything over the last two days. Good to see your images as we certainly couldn't see anything here. Interesting that some of those active regions are so close to the equator this early in the cycle??
Thanks Peter and Clare. Weather has been poor up here as well - lot of cloud and rain - I was lucky to get a small window to take a quick snap - you have to wait and wait sometimes. Cheers John W.
