binning

I have a colour ccd and binning at 2x2 and 3x3, can I use colour filters to get a colour image

There would be no advantage in using filters as e.g.
if you used a Red filter the Green & Blue Pixels would pick up nothing -
no signal.

If you are using a colour camera you cannot bin at image capture. You have to capture at full resolution, debayer and then you can bin 2x2 or 3x3.
