Tripod recommendations?

I hope I'm putting this in the right category, photography tripod recommendations?

I'm looking for a less expensive option than Manfrotto for a tripod with a fluid action head.
ie. one that would be suitable for a video camera where smooth panning is required.

I've set up a Stellarvue F80M2 finder as a RFT or 'grab and go' scope.
My tripod was bought some years ago, a cheap Fancier FT-365. It's OK for panning in azimuth but hopeless in altitude!
Unfortunately my tripod doesn't have the necessary fitting to allow a different head to be attached.

Any suggestions? links to suppliers?

Thanks
Chris

Chris how much does the scope weigh?

I find slik tripods good value, do you want a tall one which you can stand uptight.

I also had the William optics tr188, bought direct from them, posted form Taiwan (post was only20), I got it on special but I think it was 119..it handled 20x80 bins & ed80 fairly easily

Less than 2kg Daniel, according to my bathroom scales!

I'll check out your suggestions.

Thanks

Chris
