Some new event???

Hi All

Sorry i have been away for a while but i wanted to ask a question.

We have friends of the family here for the weekend, one is a Golfer, I know, those types lol

He has asked me to ask a question here, he heard from a bartender's mother at the golf course.....you following so far??

That some event is going to happen either this year or next year where Australia or the southern hemisphere will be in total daylight for 48 hours or something????

Sounds strange and probably a barmaid having a few too many drinks but i do know the north has daylight during their summer months.

To me the south being in daylight during night hours seems very strange but thought i would pass it by some of the more knowlegable people here.

Any help would be appreciated

Chris

I very much doubt it I even did a google search and found nothing and if it is not on the net then it is even too far out for the conspirasy theorists to show up in google if it is not on google then it can't be a very widespread belief

Thankyou Warren and Chris.

I think Ray's barmaid is trying to make this out to be more than it will be.

Betelgeuse star wont go supenova for a very long time so i think its safe to say Ray wont have anymore Golfing tales to tell for a long time.

Les has thoroughly debunked this one in this thread. I've run into people wondering how such rubbish actually gets printed/published.
