10-inch f/5 Dobsonian with Gondwana custom base with encoders & Nexus-2 DSC

10-inch Dobsonian telescope + 4 eyepieces.

The telescope optical tube is a Bintel BT252 ($1189 new).

Gondwana Telescopes founder and scope builder Alexander Massey was commissioned to build a new upgraded base from marine plywood equipped with encoders on both axes.

The custom base with encoders Alex built looks like a piece of art.
This upgrade cost $650.

The optional Nexus-2 connects the telescope encoders to your smartphone via Wi-Fi, enabling precise object location and tracking with great ease.

Faint outer planets Uranus, Neptune & Pluto can be located in seconds, as can difficult-to-find comets.

Encoders and Nexus-2 DSC (digital setting circles) enable you to view 20-30 galaxies per hour with breathtaking accuracy. This is very helpful in April, May & June when the rich Virgo galaxy cluster is at its best (see last photo).

Includes 4 eyepieces: 30mm, 15mm, 12.5mm and 4mm.

Pick-up from Roseville 2069 NSW

Price - two options are available:

$650 Telescope, eyepieces, encoders, arms & cables (no Nexus 2)

Or

$900 Telescope, eyepieces, encoders, arms & cables and
Nexus 2 Digital Setting Circles and USB Serial to Wi-Fi Interface
