Scales bars

Hi there!

I would be very grateful if someone could tell how to insert scale bars in a photo (ie to give an idea of scale and distances in Moon photos)? I can't find anything that would do it in GIMP.

It's probably quite easy but I haven't found a way to do it.

Thanks in advance.

Eric

I found some script-fu to do it. From http://www.cartographersguild.com/tu...-easy-way.html there's a link to a page in Spanish. That has a couple of links to some .scm files. The gimp registry one is for 2.6 (works in 2.8). The other one has a version for 2.4.
Put the .scm in your .gimp-2.8\scripts (or whatever version) and it appears as "Filters->Render->Map Scale Legend"
It might not be exactly what you want but it isn't unusable.

Thanks Andrew and OICURMT.

Both link lead to the same script which I have saved in the GIMP script folder (Users -> GIMP2.8 -> scripts). Once installed, the script appears under 'Filters' -> 'Render'. When clicked on it opens a box with scale designing options.

Cheers,

Eric
