My Name is Aaron and I just joinded IIS, I just moved to western burbs of melbourne and am hoping to meet up with a club at somepoint in my area that share this passion. Hope to chat with you all soon and share some experiances and info.
Hi Aaron
Not sure if there any specific western suburbs clubs, but Snake Valley is easily reachable form there just past Ballarat.
Going the other way is the Mornington Peninsular Astro Society, or for general stuff the is the Astronomical Society of Vic.
Hi Aaron and welcome. Being in inner Melbourne you will be keen to get out of it as soon as possible. Snake Valley have a good dark site as do ASV. Both are good, safe locations with which to explore the universe. Clear skies.
Hi Aaron and welcome mate , nice scope you have there , woaw ! lovely.
I am up in Darwin so cant help you , but there are lots and lota of Melbourne people here that I am sure they will help .
again ,, love your scope ...
Brian.
Welcome to IIS. There are no Astro Clubs on the west of Melb. The largest in Melb is Astronomical Society of Vic. This is their web site: http://asv.org.au/
Great club with regular meetings. Once joined, the NAG (New Astronomers Group) is a must for all those new to astronomy. 12 months of instruction that is invaluable to gaining experience, and at a very cheap fee (around $30).
Also IIS is full of helpful members and advice - any questions, problems and assistance is freely given.
