Hi Programmer,

No, I dont know of anyone who does this sort of swap on equipment, however, I will point out that I bought the UHC-S late the day before and turned up early the next day and it was still in pristine condition. I explained that I didnt really have enough aperture to make the UHC-S viable and they happily exchanged it over. 10 out of 10 in my book!

If you decide a UHC is one you want make sure you consider the DGM Optics NPB filter which can be ordered from the US for around $80-90 (1.25").

Do a search on this forum you should find several threads about them, they are well liked and are recommended from a large-ish sized review of various filters on numerous targets on Cloudy nights...

Thanks all, I have a lot of reading to do. I'll post a follow-up before I buy. Still interested in any more opinions that might come along

Hey programmer,

Ive got the DGM Optics 1.25" OIII and NPB.
Both are quite good, and dont saturate the stars too much.
NPB is great for slewing around looking for areas of nebulosity.
OIII great for defining shape, and contrast of easily seen and faint nebs, planetary nebs.
