G.S dob screw thread

A few months ago, while at my semi-dark sky viewing ground I had the misfortune of loosing one of the two clamp screws for the two inch focuser barrel, ie the ones to clamp two inch eyepieces in place.

The screw appears to be 3mm , but the standard M3 type screws have a different thread.

I have spoken to to Mr Andrews who supplied the scope and he sent me some screws but were the wrong size

Does anyone know or have a way of identifying the thread pitch so I can replace these screws?

Please help !

Can you take the other one (the one that wasn't lost) to the hardware store and simply compare?

Or take the 1.25" adapter to the hardware store and put some screws in until 1 fits..

I'll have a look at mine tonight and see if I can help at all..

I take a tin of marker spray paint for this problem. Put a spot on the ground so the next day you have the search location.
