Noobie Diary part 4 - the toucam comes out to play

Well, i have to say I am very impressed. I have photographed the southern cross. No telescope yet and I am having the time of my life!

Plugged the toucam in, took the unit and laptop outside and pointed it to the heavens. I could not believe it, it picked up some stars!!!.

Lets record a avi movie. (the neighbours next door having s*x). No the stars. Took about 600 frames with everything set on auto this and auto that. About 200 got "kept" and 400 were "dropped".

Okay, lets give this registrax a go. Loade up the avi, chose a star in the middle as the reference point and optimised etc.

Saved it and loaded into Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and saved as a JPEG.

I played around with some settings in registrax to try and take the vertical lines out, but thought i better post my first one up there.

Did i say i was impressed?
