M45..back at it after 3 years.

First attempt at m45, and a little to far stretched...but anyway.

-9x400sec@400iso
-8inch newton NEQ

no flats, darks or bias.

With all this cloud about I dont see myself imaging for awhile I was lucky enough to do some test runs on the new...well my new d610 nikon. Its great that the cooler I made has done the job and knocked 20 degrees off this heat. Next project is a dew strap for this 300% humidity here.

I can not wait to get back into astrophotography, I'm back to keeping a close eye on the sky.

Hi Cosmic......yay, your in Darwin too.....you, George and I! I'm still new, had my scope about 6 weeks or so. We seem to be pretty thin on the ground here and no club. Should we meet up? I've only ever looked through my own scope with my inexperienced and fumbling novice skills, so observing with others would be great!

Thanks Aidan, yep I added that I had taken none because I'm thinking the same as you This is the year to get serious about the final image, it will make such a difference. Next round.

This is a few weeks old this capture, I'm hoping next session to use it...clouds look to be thinning out..or did I speak to soon haha. Cable control..sorry dont know what you mean

G'day Hemi, and welcome to the hobby. Meeting up would be great, finding the time is anther issue. I mainly image late at night and with the provision the kids have gone to bed on time. I jumped straight in the deep end with very little visual through my ts. But I'm sure ill bring something to the table Plans to get my son a 12" dob for his birthday, as he always wants to look through my image setup...(cough cough) I might use it as well...he will only be 7 lol.

That's lovely for a return image, and yes, I laughed too at the polar axis elevation and the '300% humidity' - you really are a lot closer to the equator, different challenges!! A good Pleiades, thanks for the view
