Sorry all, but I can't make it this weekend. It would have been good to see you all again but I'm out Hill End with my son looking for some yellow stuff. Hopefully I'll do better than last time, all I found was nails, bullets, nails, bullet shells, nails, screws, nails, ring pulls from cans, nails, cans, and of course I can't forget to mention nails.

Hi Phil,

I will come to your place and we can go from there in one car. I should get to your place about 2:00pm.

I will be bringing my new "baby" SDM. This is a 10"/F5.3 SDM with Mark Suchting mirror. Peter and his wife Kim delivered this to me last weekend, so this will be first light. The woman in the photo is Peter's wife Kim.

Cheers,
John B

" rent-a-scope ".

I hope its a cracker of a night.

I am in Canberra on the last leg of our around Australia trip.
Not sure if we will be home in time.
Possible scopeless on way home if I can convince Jo.

Hi all, I will try to make it, but I will be very late. My eldest is performing in a concert tonight, he should be home by 10ish, so hopefully I can get up there by 10.30/11.00pm. By then the skies should have cleared....

I won't be there, my scope hasn't turned up

Someone else bought the same scope from the same website and got it in a day... I've been waiting all week for mine...

HI all, glad I arrived when I did (10pm), had it been any later, no one would have been there! Bit disappointed that so many had already left, but it was good to catch up with those still there - Rick, Greg, Joe and (new) Geoff. Thanks for the coffee Rick, Greg I look forward to checking out the form of your new mirror when it arrives, Joe always a pleasure mate, and Geoff thanks for the quick view through your 16" Lightbridge (about 30 seconds) before clouds completely blocked our Delphinus!

Sorry we did not get home until midnight.

But I will be looking to get the scope out and make sure it still works if anyone wants another night up the hill, or wherever

Yes, a short but enjoyable night.
Phil, thanks for the food.
Turn out was a bit dissapointing though.
Maybe we could try another BBQ around Xmas.
Greg.

Edit: Also the excellent fireball a few of us saw early in the evening.

A very pleasant evening with just the few who turned up. As Greg said, a little disappointing to see that not many of the original 'old boys' were there. The BBQ was a great idea Phil and thanks go to John for all his help and all.
The sky was quite good despite the early arrival of clouds that shortened the viewing. Thanks for the views guys through all the binos and scopes and it was nice of Rod to make the effort after what he has been through of late. Till next one. Cheers
