Power supply for EQ6-R

Am about to pull the pin on a new mount, eq6-r pro, and am wondering what is the recommended power supply? lt will be used in my back yard so prefer a 240v psu over a portable power bank

Hi Paul,

Basically any 7.5-15 amp 240v to 12v socket will do. My whole setup rarely gets over 4 amps in total, with an even rarer spike above 5 amps. That's the EQ6R-Pro & a Pegasus Pocket Powerbox that splits the power to a mini-pc, cooled camera, guide camera, multiple dew heaters, sometimes a second imaging cam, focuser & filter wheel. The biggest draw is always the multiple dew heaters when required, without them it rarely gets up to 2 or 3 amps.

Cheers,
Mark

I have both EQ6-R pro and EQ8-R pro mounts
pro and use Powertech 12V 7.5amp power adapters ( 1 for mount and dew control and a second one for cameras , filter wheel etc.. )
Mine have been running for years and years without any problems

Cheers
Martin

PS : I did change the 10amp cigarette sockets to 15amp rated heavy duty
