G'day Rohan,
Congrats on your LX90 it won't dissapoint you.
A couple of helpful hints. Make sure you read the manual.
For accurate GoTo's Calibrate Motors then Train Drive, in that order is important.
Turn on Cord Wrap and you won't hear crack!!!!!! ever again.

Also go to Weasners Mighty ETX Site it is all relevant to the LX90.

thanks xstream. Not a cloud in the sky at the moment, just about to set up for another nights viewing. Quite windy thou so that might cause some problems.

Will see how the GOTOs are tonight.

Hi Rohan, some of your experiences sound remarkably similar to mine!

My scope, too was dreadfully late. In fact, I was so P$#@ed off about it, I cancelled the deal ( was told by a supplier who shall remain nameless that the scope had not even left the US 5 weeks after placing order), so instead I called up Bintel the next day, ordered an LX200, and it was delivered to my door within 2 working days!

On one of the first night's viewing, I crunched off the end of the microfocuser cord. Bugger! It had wrapped itself around the scope somehow. Had to go to Bintel rather sheepishly for fix-up. They did it without charge, saying rather kindly it was part of the warranty@!

Keep us posted with how things are going. I am now about 2 months in, and absolutely loving it.

Rodstar

Turned out to be a shockin night. as the sun went down the clouds rolled in. Got a quick view of saturn but then nothing besides moon and jupiter and that was only a small opening in the clouds.

Tried some photogrpahy but didn't even get close to good results. Tried both prime & afocal and had no luck with either, not sure if its my camera or me holding the camera. Niether would even get close to respectable image, if anything at all. Not sure whether to invest in equipment to hold to camera on as i'm unsure if it will be able to produce anything half decent. camera is a fuji finepix 3800. Anyway 1 shot i did get was off my rig so here it is.
