Nah, not all of them are huge and impressive. Some folks use basic gear
Sometimes RobK just brings a camera and a tripod.

Cam
First astro camp I went to, arrived there and was too embarrassed to get out my little scope (130 mm Saxon on an EQ2) until I got to meet a few people who were more than happy to help me set it up and get it going.
All scopes are good, whatever get you into the hobby!

Ken, if this post is not appropriate please let me know!

I am selling a couple of eyepieces ( http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...ad.php?t=88318 )
a 24mm Panoptic (Paddy's old one) and a Meade 34mm SWA. If anyone coming to Snake Valley is interested, please let me know and you can give them a try on Friday or Sat nights (weather permitting)

Malcolm

That's fine Malcolm.

Good to give people a heads up about what you have for sale at camp.

Yep Cam, no need to worry, we can form a club of two if they start picking on you LOL! You'll see all types of stuff being used from binoculars right up to big, high-end optics. That's the great thing about it, so many options available and so many friendly helpful people who don't mind giving you a look.

Getting pretty excited now, ETA late Friday arvo. Will be bringing the 4.5" scope and my "imaging rig" (loosest possible definition ). As usual, I'll be offering astrophotography master-classes for the technically-challenged!

Great list building up there Ken, can't wait to catch up.

Cheers -

Rob,

I can't wait to see what you produce with the now famous 4.5 scope and rig. I look forward to learning a thing or two from you!

HAHA Thanks Rob.. Im going to be checking out everyone imaging. Ive played a bit with sharpcap and a bit with wxastrocapture.. I still dont understand the histogram and settings. The only usable stuff I have got is on the sun through a PST. I dont go very well at night on the imaging side so stick to mainly observing. Also I have an explore scientific 82 degree 14mm. Im really keen to try it out against some of the more expensive Eps of the same FOV and see how it compares if anyone will let me.

Cam you're coming to the right place to try, test and discuss different equipment.

Rob, looking forward to catching up. Oh, and I'm in the queue for some knowledge upload.
