Exclamation Useful Summary List Guys 'n Gals

As recognised by several posters here, the number of songs without duplicates is hard to sort. So I have complied a list so far given here in pdf form. (added a few more in blue, that I've thought over.)

Duplicates have been merged, one or two I had trouble deciphering several additions by ISS'ers, so if I missed one, just repost it in the thread!

Add more, and I'll update the list for you guys 'n gals...

Cheers

"Stay" Pink Floyd
It has a passing reference to the moon. Does that count?

"Midnight blue burning gold.
A yellow moon is growing cold."

Don't know if it has been mentioned yet.......

The Dark of the Sun

In the dark of the sun
Will you save me a place
Give me hope, give me comfort
Get me to a better place

Saw you sail across a river
Underneath orion's sword
In your eyes there was a freedom
I had never known before

Hey yeah yeah
In the dark of the sun
We will stand together
Yeah we will stand as one
Oh in the dark of the sun

Past my days of great confusion
Past my days of wondering why
Will I sail into the heavens
Constellations in my eyes

Hey yeah yeah
In the dark of the sun
We will stand together
Yeah we will stand as one
Oh in the dark of the sun

Hey yeah yeah
In the dark of the sun
We will stand together
Yeah we will stand as one
Oh in the dark of the sun

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, off

Into The Great Wide Open

Cheers

In May 2000 Pearl Jam released their 6 album called Binaural, The album's cover art is a Hubble Space Telescope photo of the Hourglass Nebula. Hubble Space Telescope photos of the Helix Nebula and Eagle Nebula are also featured in the inside cover and liner notes for this album, respectively. The photos were used with the permission of NASA. Regarding the artwork, Ament said, "The reason that we went with Tchad [Blake] is because he provides an amazing atmosphere to songs....So, I think we wanted the artwork to represent that....One of the themes that we've been exploring...is just realizing that in the big scheme of things, even the music that we make when we come together, no matter how powerful it is, it's still pretty minuscule. I think for me the whole space theme has a lot to do with scale. You know, you look at some of those pictures, and there are thirteen light years in four inches in that picture.

How about this one.......Chad Morgan - The Cat Came Back.
They put it on a rocket ship headed straight for Mars....But the very next day the old cat came back.

Sorry.
Cheers Kev.

..sorry can't remember any more than those few words
Lyrics - J Webb

(Nelson?)
I was a highwayman, along the coach roads I did ride,
With sword and pistol by my side.
Many a young maid lost her baubles to my trade.
Many a soldier shed his lifeblood on my blade.
The *******s hung me in the spring of twenty-five:
But I am still alive.

(Jennings?)
I was a sailor, I was born upon the tide.
And with the sea I did abide.
I sailed a schooner round the Horn to Mexico.
I went aloft and furled the mainsail in a blow.
And when the yards broke off, they said that I got killed:
But I am living still.

(Kristofferson?)
I was a dam builder across the river deep and wide;
Where steel and water did collide.
A place called Boulder on the wild Colorado,
I slipped and fell into the wet concrete below.
They buried me in that great tomb that knows no sound:
But I am still around.
I'll always be around,.
And around and around and around and around.

(Cash)
I fly a starship across the Universe divide.
And when I reach the other side,
I'll find a place to rest my spirit if I can.
Perhaps I may become a highwayman again.
Or I may simply be a single drop of rain;
But I will remain.
And I'll be back again,

And again and again and again and again

Evanescence - Your Star

I can't see your star.
I can't see your star.
Though I patiently waited, bedside, for the death of today.
I can't see your star.
The mechanical lights of Lisbon frightened it away.

And I'm alone now,
Me and all I stood for.
We're wandering now.
All in parts and pieces, swim lonely, find your own way out.

I can't see your star.
I can't see your star.
How can the darkness feel so wrong?

...

Hi guys,

Here's my contribution to the space songs. It's a great dedication to Neil Armstrong. I love the biblical touch at the end.

Songs to do with space.....

How about Alex Lloyd's "My way home" one of my all time favourites.

It goes something like

"The sky is so dark, so dark and blue, picture shape clouds of you know who, looking for a sign in the midnight sun, fighting myself isn't that much fun"

Ok, I found another song to do with space.
Kermit the Frogs "Rainbow Connection".

"What's so amazing that keeps us star gazing
And what do we think we might see.
Some day we might find it
The Rainbow Connection."

Hi Jen & jjj,

I've been waiting for Jen to rivive this thread.
A real oldie from before my time, the 1940's.... "Deep In The Heart Of Texas"

The stars at night are big and bright, deep in the heart of Texas.
The prairie sky is wide and high, deep in the heart of Texas....

I happened to have a yearning to listen to some real oldies and this is on a CD "We'll Meet Again 40 Wartime Hits.

Cheers Marty
