Yeah, the wind is supposed to be there for the night and into tomorrow.

Clouds to clear after about 6 tonight, then be away for the night.

Astropanel says the seeing will be poor.

I'm out anyway... just thought I would pass that info on.

Enjoy, any who venture out.

Wind and Dobs are not compatible.
With that extra information, reluctantly I will pass, I think.

Found at Pony Club - Large End Cap

Hi all Pony Club attendees.

Last time I was up there, I found a large end cap.
It is exactly the same design and size as my Skywatcher (9x50) Finder scope end cap (larger one). (Inscribed 575 which seems to be the internal diameter)

It has been a little abused by dancing horses and the elements, but I have cleaned it up, and re-shaped it, and it is currently working well when tested on my finder scope.

If you lost such a thing, around the area I usually park, let me know.

As for our next observing session, Saturday the 1st of October is the next New Moon. However, as this is a long weekend and within school holidays, I expect the equestrian people may be holding their annual camp over.
If anyone has any further information on this, please post.

The above is also a reason why Bretti may not be a viable option either.

Allan?

Sorry to be a party pooper, but I have other plans on the next new moon weekend. The place is getting a major earthworks job done on it as we speak, so I want to see how that's turned out before organising the next get together.

I'll be out there three times in October, and at this stage I'm thinking the new moon at the end of October might be a good chance for a star party.

We will be on the Dallas flight home on the 23rd Sept. Allan and am so looking forward to being back in Oz. If we may I think we will need a peaceful break under some dark skies. Would love to catch up with y'all and end of Oct sounds fabulous.
Rick and Lyn and Meggs.

Rick, good to hear from you. The scope will need some star light to blow the cobwebs away. See you in October.

I miss flying you home by only a few days, that was badly organised. I could have arranged for glasses of the good champagne for the flight.

Well Allan, you'll just have to change your shift then...joking mate.
That would have been nice to sip some champers. We will have to crack a bottle at Coolah for sure though. We had our return flights booked over six months ago and are trying however to have our daughter Kara upgraded from premium eco to business class by our travel agent to make her trip a little more comfortable. That would be nice for her but no certainty as you know.
Thank you all again for your well wishes. Talk soon.

If the weather cooperates... I'm up for an evening out. Chance to try out the new camera on some wide field, and maybe even some planetary through the telescope now that I have a t-ring and adaptor. Or really try to set up a polar align or drift align and maybe get it right.
