Another one for IT, worked in most areas of IT and been writing software since '65.

Prior to that worked in a toy factory had to leave too much stress at Christmas, looking back not sure it was a move for the better.

Gee, better put another one in for us Mechanical Fitters, we seem to be in short supply.
Apprenticed in the Scottish Coal Mines and spent about 10 years as a maintenance fitter with the Lighthouse Service before coming to Aus in '81. Next 25 years were pretty much with the Water Supply in WA. Finished up as Maintenance Co-ordinator, Wastewater Treatment (Sewage) in the South West Region. Thought since I was always in it, might as well make it pay the mortgage. Now retired and full time building and refurbishing 'puters, repairing house, growing vegies, tinkering with any new object that comes my way, getting back into Astronomy and having a great time with my lovely lady here in Coota.

I run an NGO that supports people in the community with an intellectual disability. My first degree is in psychology and I once did a PhD in immunology which suits charity work perfectly (that's a joke everyone). Studied the role of bits of bacteria and their effect on sleep and immune function. Nobody has the faintest idea of what sleep is or does - and no you don't sleep because you are tired - that's just a cunning ploy to get you to be still so you can sleep! Having said that I can't read more than a page in bed and have sometimes "fallen" into my eyepiece as I nodded off on the job! Not narcoleptic - just a very good sleeper!

Hi.

I'm an Audio Visual Manager. I'm a qualified audio engineer, although I never could tell which part of the job could be considered engineering . I got sick of dealing with ego's in the music world, and now I do strictly corporate events, much better pay and hours. I'm also studying part time at Syd UNI (maths and science prep course).
