A great little number.
No, Sirius-ly!

Thumbs up

Thanks Jen revamping this thread, as I thought of a few other song since you first posted this... So how about;

"Just Be" by DJ Tiësto (2004)

Although it is not really about inner space and not outer space, I've just always loved the "observational" lyrics;

"You can travel the world but you can't run away
From the person you are in your heart
You can be who you want to be
Make us believe in you
Keep all your light in the dark
If your searching for truth
You must look in the mirror
and make sense of what you can see

Just be. Just be."

Also many of the Dutch Tiësto trance and electronic dance music is often about flight and escaping. Vocalist is Kirsty Hawkshaw.

(There is also a nice space related video on YouTube, about Apollo 11 to this song at; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6D2T...eature=related )

A shorter 5:29 version is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzrxopKkpr8 (but is not really space vid related)

Nice when observing too...

Another great Tiësto song that reminds me of astronomy and escaping is "Walking on Clouds" - not because is about space but walking on clouds on cloudy nights. A nice vid and quality version of the track is at ; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gG2ifeI3RM

Satellite Party is the new band of Perry Farrel, former frontman for Jane's Addiction and Porno For Pyros.

(No video, just the song.)

GO THE DOG STAR!

(Something wrong with first link. Sorry. Can't work it out?)

Dee Long: "Outside of Time and Space"

Wasn't there a Frankie Goes to Hollywood song with the lyric.."There goes a supernova, what a pushover..."

Not exactly a song, but Mozart's Symphony No41 is commonly known as "The Jupiter Symphony"

Fly me to the moon...

Holy smokes, how could we forget "Fly me to the moon", by Old Blue Eyes, Mr Sinatra

"Fly me to the moon
Let me sing among those stars
Let me see what spring is like
On jupiter and mars"

This is definitely it...two more :-)

I can't believe I remember these songs...

"Get miles", Gomez:

"Gonna leave everything I know
Gonna head to the galaxy
Gonna leave this planet, man
Gonna head to the galaxy

Get miles away
Get miles away
......"

"Fly away", Lennie Kravitz:

"Lets go and see the stars
The milky way or even mars
Where it could just be ours

Lets fade into the sun
Let your spirit fly
Where we are one
Just for a little fun
Oh oh oh yeah !

I want to get away
I want to fly away
Yeah yeah yeah"

Oh well, thought that was it...

"Subterranean Homesick Alien", by Radiohead. In fact the entire album 'Ok Computer' is somewhat trippy and spacey...

"Some Other Time"
from the album "I, Robot",
Alan Parsons Project.

Now the starlight which has found me
Lost for a million years
Tries to linger
As it fills my eyes 'til it disappears

Looking through my music I found:

'...And the Great Cold Death of the Earth' by Agalloch from The Mantle

'Nada Moonshine' by Amon Duul

Tori Amos has an album call 'To Venus and Back' which has a track called 'Space Dog'.

'Under Utopian Universe' from Amygdala's self-titled album.

Anekdoten have 'Stardust and Sand' (from A Time of Day), 'The Sun Absolute' (from From Within), 'This Far from the Sky' (Nucleus) and 'Moons of Mars' (Waking the Dead - Live in Japan 2005)

'Sleeping Satellite' by Tasmin Archer

'Cometa Rossa' by Area from Caution Radiation Area

The album Biogenesis Project by Ars Nova has tracks entitled Introduction, Escape, Mother Earth, Metamorphosis, Humanoid's Breakfast, Against the Meteors, Trust the Future

'Total Eclipse' by Brian Auger's Oblivion Express (from the self-titled album)

'Ride the Comet' by Ayreon from '01011001'

And perhaps we could include 'Rainy Day' from America's self-titled album.

That's about it for the A's. When I feel inspired I'll start on B. This thread could last a while.

I was flying around in space.
In another time and place.
When i came across this thing it was called the human race.
Some knew a lot of songs and some made a whole lot up.
But just look through my ole telescope and look for sirius and the pup.

Classic.....cheers Kev.
